Veneers and crowns

Having undergone cosmetic surgery doesn’t mean that you become invincible to future possible problems. Correcting problems, putting veneers and crowns still have limitations which you have to understand so you won’t go around breaking off your teeth again just shortly after it had been treated.

When it comes to veneers, you have to understand that they will not be as strong as the actual tooth enamel or structure. Eventually, they will be susceptible to damage, especially if you’re fond of eating hard food, you bite your nails, or you play physical sports which could damage your teeth.

When it comes to crowns, the patient should understand that it is more expensive than other alternative treatments. With placing crowns, the dentist would have to remove a part of the teeth so the crown would fit perfectly. The patient should understand that crowns too will not be as strong as the actual tooth or enamel.

Although veneers and crowns help a great deal in improving the appearance of chipped or broken teeth, patients should be aware of their own responsibilities once the procedures have been done. The best way to maintain their teeth in a great condition is by proper oral hygiene and regular visits to the dentist.
