Proper Tooth Brushing Technique

There are many people who still get surprised to find out that they get a cavity when they swear that they follow a proper oral hygiene. But sometimes, while they do brush their teeth and even floss afterwards, they may not be doing it properly. So for everyone’s sake, and to the hope of lesser cavities this year, below are the steps on how to brush your teeth properly. This activity may seem simple, but believe me, doing this properly will save you a lot of teeth, and money.
• Put your toothbrush next to the teeth so that it rests on the gums forming a 45-degree angle against the gums.
• Shift the toothbrush from the gums toward the border of teeth to move the dental plaque away from the gum line.
• After brushing the outer surface of one tooth at a time, do the same for the inner surfaces.
• Brush the chewing surfaces of the teeth, the teeth on the side, in a horizontal direction.
• Brush your tongue to eliminate bacteria and to prevent bad breath.
• Floss your teeth after brushing.
• The time you spent brushing should be between two to three minutes.
