Am I too old for braces?
Normally and a more advisable move is to have braces while the jaw is still growing, that’s why adolescents and young teens are the best candidates for braces. But while this is true, you can also have braces even when you’re already an adult. Yes, it’s never too late to have braces.
Actually, nowadays, about twenty percent of patients are adults. If you’re an adult yourself and you want to have braces but are a little embarrassed on how ridiculous you might look while wearing one, braces now come in a wide range of colors and style.
If you are willing to shed a few hundred bucks to make your braces look subtle, you can avail of those tooth-colored, almost invisible braces that are made of plastic or ceramic. It depends on your preference and whether your orthodontist approves of it.
Some orthodontists even attach the braces on the inside of the teeth if you don’t want the braces to be noticed, but these are usually more expensive and a lot more uncomfortable.
Anyway, the bottom line is, no one is never too old for braces and for caring for their teeth, but if you can help it, why not do it earlier?
